If you love horse as I do and you are wandering the western coast of England (near Liverpool) you will want to see the Shire Horses. I love this place so much, this is my second time. Where better to see them then at the Shire Horse Centre in Cotebrook, England. Alistair and Janet King are the very nice owners. Even though this visit took place in November and it rained on and off, my spirits were not dampened. Who could be sad while connecting with these beauties….
It was wet but the horses didn’t seem to mind. This one posed for me.
It wasn’t all umbrellas and mud… the sun came out in time for a picture of the beautiful meadow you walk through to view the horses. This is an ideal spot for kids. They can run all over these acres. There is much to see.
There are other animals – pigs, chickens, birds they are worth a visit but my heart is with the shires. Oh and if you feel like just eating them up, you can buy a horse cookie, or horse-shaped chocolate in the gift/dining shop.
Janet told me the horse cookies are special ordered for the centre and can only be purchased there. Aren’t they adorable? You can see they offer other yummy options. The gift center also has some great horse-themed items such as calendars, puzzles, books, bags and more. If you would like to know more about them check out their Facebook page.
